Egypt's mobile networks, and the one your eSIM uses
Egypt has four mobile networks, all with 4G and 5G. The plans on this site are Africa regional plans: they roam on one of them.
- 4 networks
- 5G since June 2025
- eSIM since December 2024

The short answer
Egypt has four networks: Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt, e& Egypt and WE. The eSIM plans on this site roam on an Egyptian partner network, so you turn on data roaming for the eSIM line, and your phone shows that network's name once it connects.

What “roams” means for these plans
The plans on this site are Africa regional plans. In Egypt they connect to an Egyptian partner network as a visitor would, which is roaming by definition. That is why you turn on data roaming for the eSIM line. The plan is prepaid, so roaming cannot add charges to it. Keep data roaming off on your usual SIM, so your home carrier does not charge you.
How to see the network on your phone
Once the eSIM line connects, the network’s name appears next to it: in Settings, Cellular (or Mobile service) on an iPhone, and in the SIM settings on Android. Egyptian networks use the mobile country code 602. On Android, the network code shows under About phone, SIM status.
When the days start
The store does not publish when the days of these plans start. Install the eSIM within 30 days of buying it. If your trip starts more than 30 days after you buy, write to the store’s support before you install, and it confirms when the days start for your plan.
Where coverage is thin
Egypt’s regulator measures mobile quality on main and secondary roads across the country, and in 2024 approved 3,102 new base stations. Coverage is still limited in some remote places: Canada’s travel advice names the Marsa Matruh to Siwa road and Siwa itself. Download offline maps before long desert drives.

Which network will my eSIM connect to in Egypt?
A partner network in Egypt, chosen by the plan. It is an Africa regional plan, so it roams, and your phone shows the network's name next to the eSIM line once it connects.
Do Egypt's networks have 5G?
Yes. All four networks launched 5G in June 2025. Whether a given plan on this site uses 5G is not confirmed, so count on 4G.
Can a tourist buy an eSIM from an Egyptian network?
It depends on the network. WE says its eSIM can only be activated and downloaded inside Egypt. Orange says tourists are eligible, through its shops or its app. A plan bought here installs before you fly.
